Job Description
Overview
The Director of Information Services (DOIS) is responsible for leading the University's digital transformation and ensuring that IT services align with the University strategic objectives. This role requires a strong understanding of IT infrastructure, emerging technologies, and the unique needs of a higher education institution.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy that supports the University's Strategic Planing, academic, research, and administrative objectives.
Infrastructure Management: Oversee the planning, design, and implementation of IT infrastructure, ensuring it is reliable, secure, and scalable.
Team Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of IT professionals, cultivating an environment of collaboration, professional growth, and high performance.
Set clear goals for the IT department, establish performance benchmarks, and implement mechanisms for accountability and continuous improvement.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other University departments to identify and address IT needs.
Facilitate effective communication between the DOIS and university leadership, ensuring that technology initiatives are well-integrated with institutional objectives.
Innovation: Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and explore opportunities to leverage innovation for the benefit of the University.
Security: Ensure the security and integrity of the University's IT systems and data.
Budget Management: Manage the IT budget effectively and allocate resources appropriately.
Digital Culture:
Lead the University's digital transformation by fostering a culture of innovation and digital literacy.
Guide the University through change management processes, ensuring smooth transitions during the implementation of new systems, platforms, and practices.
Develop and implement training programs to equip staff with the necessary digital skills.
Support the professional development of IT staff through ongoing education, certifications, and training opportunities to keep them current with industry advancements.
Talent Management:
Build a skilled and motivated IT team to support the University's digital initiatives.
