1: How can I request a new UOD email account?

To request a new UOD email account, fill out the DOIS Email Application form and submit it to the DOIS office.

2: How can I set up my University email on my phone?

You can set up your University email on your phone using the Gmail app or your device’s default email app. Simply select Google as the account type and enter your university email address and password. Here are the steps and a video instruction;

3: What is Google Workspace, and how can I access it?

Google Workspace is a suite of productivity tools including Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Classroom, and more. You can access Google Workspace through workspace.google.com by signing in with your University of Duhok email address.

5: What if I forget my UOD email password?

If you've forgotten your password, you can reset it by following the instructions provided on the Google login page. This works if you have activated 2-Stage Verification for your Google Workspace account.
If you have not done so, we advise emailing us from your recorded private email to: dois.emails@uod.ac
You may also access the DOIS EMAILS HELP DESK on Google Chat Space for any concern about the University official emails. 

6: Can I access my UOD email from my mobile device?

Yes, you can access your UOD email from your Android or iOS smartphone. Follow the instructions provided on our website for setup.

7: How do I access my UOD email account?

To access your UOD email account, go to mail.google.com and sign in using your University of Duhok credentials (your full UOD email address and your personal password).

8: How do I get a UOD email account?

Every staff or student at UOD is eligible to apply to a university email account. Further instructions how you can do this is available here

9: How do I access the Internet at UOD?

Everyone at our UOD community has the right to access the Internet. Please follow the procedure presented here to check whether you are eligible to access. 

10: What if I encounter technical difficulties with my UOD email account?

Contact the DOIS Help Desk for assistance. They can troubleshoot issues and provide solutions.

11: How do I join a Google Meet meeting?

You'll receive an invitation email with a link to join the meeting. Click on the link and follow the instructions to join.

12: Can I record Google Meet meetings?

Yes, you can record Google Meet meetings. The recording will be saved to your Google Drive.

13: How do I share my Google Drive files with others?

To share a file, right-click on the file and select "Share." You can then add people to the sharing list and set their permissions.

14: What is the difference between Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides?

15: How do I recover a lost Google Drive document?

If you've accidentally deleted a document, check your Trash folder in Google Drive. Files remain in Trash for 30 days. If it’s been permanently deleted or you need further assistance, contact DOIS. 

16: What is the data normalisation process, and why is it important? 

The data normalisation process ensures consistency and accuracy in how personal information is stored and displayed across University systems. This helps streamline services such as academic portfolios, email addresses, and other digital resources. 

17: How can I attend a Google Workspace training session?

DOIS offers regular training sessions for Google Workspace tools. You can check the training schedule on our Training & Workshops page, or add the Google Chat Space with your university email.

18: Can I recover my account if I forget both my email and password? 

It is almost impossible to forget your email account, as it is created and Normalised to your official names based on your passport. However, Yes, you can contact the DOIS Email Help Desk for assistance. You’ll need to verify your identity with personal information such as your name, department, and student or faculty ID number, by taking your University ID and passport to DOIS main office at the Library Building.

19: How can I integrate my Google Calendar with my mobile phone? 

To integrate Google Calendar with your mobile device, download the Google Calendar app from your app store and sign in with your university email account. Your calendar will sync automatically. 

20: What should I do if my email account is compromised? 

If you suspect that your email has been compromised, change your password immediately. Contact DOIS email office by visiting them, or simply email to dois.emails@uod.ac for assistance in securing your account and further instructions. 

21: How do I upload lecture materials to Google Drive for students? 

To upload materials, log in to Google Drive with your university account, create a folder for your course, and upload your files. You can share the folder link with students via Google Classroom or email.

22: How can I request technical support for a classroom device? 

For classroom technology issues, submit a support request to dois.helpdesk@uod.ac, including details about the issue and the room location. A technician will be assigned to resolve the issue. 

23: How can I update my profile photo in Google Workspace? 

To update your profile picture, go to your Google Account Settings, click on your profile image, and upload a new photo. Make sure the photo follows University guidelines (professional, passport-style, plain background).

24: Where can I find resources on how to use Google Workspace tools? 

Visit our Training Resources page, where we provide user guides, video tutorials, and recorded workshops to help you navigate tools like Google Docs, Google Meet, and Google Classroom. 

You may simply search YouTube for any topic on Google Workspace to access many interactive videos

25: I am signed in with my @uod.ac account but still cannot access the files. What should I do?

First, confirm that your browser is up-to-date and try clearing your cache. If you are logged into multiple accounts simultaneously, sign out of the non-university accounts to avoid conflicts, then log in exclusively with your @uod.ac account.

26: Can I use a different browser or device to access these files?

Yes, you can use any browser or device; however, ensure that you are logged in with your @uod.ac account. The same sign-in process applies across all platforms.
