How can I use my old MS Excel files in Google Sheets?
ou can easily open your Excel files in Google Sheets. Simply upload your Excel file (.xlsx) to Google Drive, then right-click the file, select Open with, and choose Google Sheets. Your file will automatically convert to a Google Sheets format, allowing you to edit and collaborate with others in real time.
You can easily import your Excel files into Google Sheets by following these steps:
Open or create a spreadsheet in Google Sheets
Click File
Click Import
Select the Excel file and click Select
Choose an import option:
Create new spreadsheet: Creates a new Google Sheets document with the imported Excel data
Insert new sheet(s): Adds the Excel data as a new sheet or sheets within your existing Google Sheets document
Replace spreadsheet: Overwrites the data in your current Google Sheets document with the data from the Excel file
Append rows to current sheet: Adds the Excel data to the end of your existing sheet, preserving your current data
Click Import data
If prompted, click Open now
Are there any limitations to using Google Sheets compared to Excel?

How can I access my Google Sheets from anywhere?

Simply log into your University Google Workspace and access your Google Drive including Google Sheets from anywhere, on any device with Internet access.
Can I save or export Google Sheets files back to Excel format?
Yes, you can easily download your Google Sheets document as an Excel file. Go to File > Download and choose Microsoft Excel (.xlsx). This will convert your Google Sheet back into an Excel file format.
Will my Excel formulas work in Google Sheets?
Most Excel formulas will work in Google Sheets without any modifications. Common functions like SUM, AVERAGE, IF, and VLOOKUP are fully supported. However, some advanced or Excel-specific functions might need to be adjusted. Google Sheets offers alternatives and even some unique functions, like GOOGLEFINANCE and IMPORTRANGE.
